• True to its Texas roots, this vibrantly flavored chili starter is full of slow-cooked richness. Only the best vine-ripened tomatoes from California, chipotle peppers, ancho chilies, Mexican cumin and Texas' own Lone Star Beer are cooked until their flavors meld in mouthwatering style. Simply add browned ground or cubed beef, ground turkey or vegetables, simmer and serve.

Receiving Instructions

• Store unopened at room temperature for up to 18 months. Once opened, store in refrigerator and enjoy within 7 days.

Preparation Instructions

• In large saucepan over medium-high heat, brown 1 lb. (500g) ground beef (preferably chili grind) or 1 lb. (500g) cubed beef for 7 to 10 minutes. Drain off fat.
• Add 1 jar Chili Starter and 1 cup (250ml) water and stir to combine. Bring to boil, reduce the heat to low and simmer for 1 hour for ground beef; for cubed beef, simmer until tender, 2 to 3 hours.
• Serve chili with grated cheese, diced yellow or green onion, sour cream and tortilla chips.
• If desired, add 1 can (15 oz./470g) black beans, drained and rinsed, during last 30 minutes of cooking. For spicier version, add minced jalapeno along with Chili Starter.
• Serves 6.
